Vosloorus police appeal for help to find missing 71-year-old man

Vosloorus police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating 71-year-old Lerato Paulos Mabote, who has been missing since he was reported missing by his son on 13 September 2026.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), Mr Mabote was last seen in the Vosloorus area wearing a black round-neck jersey with grey patches on the front, grey and red tracksuit trousers, and black sandals.
Police say he is approximately 2 metres tall and may be confused or disoriented because of his age, making it difficult for him to find his way home.
SAPS also warned that Mr Mabote is known to be capable of walking long distances before experiencing difficulty walking. Members of the public are therefore urged to be on the lookout for him, even outside the Vosloorus area.
“Anyone who may have seen Mr Mabote or has information that could assist in locating him is urged to contact Vosloorus SAPS,” police said.

Police have appealed to anyone who may have information about Mr Mabote’s whereabouts to come forward so that he can be safely reunited with his family.
