The Lesedi Local Municipality in Heidelberg has opened applications for 29 Ward Based Educators (Field Workers) positions under the Community Services Department.
According to the municipality, the positions are offered on a fixed-term contract with a monthly stipend of R4 000.
Applicants are required to have a Grade 12 qualification or equivalent, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to compile reports for supervisors. Candidates must also be residents of the relevant ward.
The municipality said basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS, TB and STIs is essential, while HIV counselling training and experience working with communities through NGOs or NPOs will serve as added advantages.
The successful candidates will be responsible for promoting HIV awareness, encouraging healthy lifestyles and treatment adherence, supporting affected families, and helping residents access health and social services through referrals and follow-ups.
Lesedi Municipality stated that preference will be given to candidates who promote representativity in terms of race, gender and disability. Shortlisted applicants will also undergo background screening, including criminal record and qualification verification checks.
Applications must be submitted using the official Lesedi Local Municipality application form available on the Municipalityโs website.
Applicants are required to attach a CV, certified copies of qualifications and ID documents not older than three months.
