Springbok supporters will take centre stage in a remarkable show of appreciation when the national rugby team faces the Barbarians in Gqeberha on 20 June 2026.
In a first-of-its-kind campaign, the Springboks, in partnership with Betway, will replace the Betway logo on the back of their match shorts with the names of 23 selected fans from across South Africa.
The campaign, called Behind Every Bok, celebrates the passion and loyalty of supporters who continue to stand firmly behind the world champions.
The initiative gives fans an extraordinary opportunity to have their names carried onto the field during one of the most anticipated fixtures of the rugby calendar.
Jason Shield, Head of Sponsorship at Betway Africa, said the campaign recognises the important role supporters play in motivating and inspiring the team.
โSpringbok fans are behind every tackle, every try and every victory. This initiative will give 23 fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get their names behind our Springboks and an experience they will never forget. We see this as an opportunity to pay tribute to the fans who are truly behind the Boks,โ Shield said.
Supporters hoping to be part of the campaign can enter through the official Behind Every Bok website, where they can create a personalised preview showing how their names would appear on the Springbok shorts.
To complete the entry process, participants must share their submission on social media using the hashtag #BehindEveryBok.
The campaign has also received strong backing from rugby leadership.
SA Rugby Chief Executive Officer Rian Oberholzer described the initiative as a meaningful way to honour the supporters who have remained loyal through every stage of the teamโs journey.
โSpringbok supporters play an important role in the teamโs journey, and this initiative is a unique way to recognise the passion and support South Africans bring to the game. To see fansโ names carried onto the field alongside the Springboks makes this a really special moment,โ Oberholzer said.
Adding to the excitement, the 23 winners will receive more than just recognition on the field. They will also enjoy a memorable match-week experience in Gqeberha alongside former Springbok captain Jean de Villiers, who serves as the Betway Squad campaign captain.
Entries are open until 11 June 2026, giving supporters a limited window to claim a place in Springbok history.
For many rugby fans, this is more than a competition โ it is a rare opportunity to stand behind the Boks in the most literal and unforgettable way possible.
