Newcastle teen crowned Teen Model World 2026 in Colombia

Sixteen-year-old Chrizmie Mostert has brought international recognition to South Africa after being crowned Teen Model World 2026 in Bogotรก, Colombia.

The Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal teenager represented South Africa at the international competition after first being named Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2025.

Her latest achievement makes her the first contestant from Miss Teen Universe South Africaโ€™s teen category to win an international title, according to a statement released by her team.

Mostert, who studies through Curro Online, has built a growing profile in modelling, photography and fashion. She was previously named the Junior Photogenic Winner in a 2025 competition involving participants from eight countries and has also been recognised as an International Photogenic Icon.

She was also crowned the overall winner of the PPMC Magazine Miss Victorious 2024 competition and serves as an ambassador for Pink Territory Perfume.

Beyond the runway, Mostert is using her platform to raise awareness about learning disabilities. She is the founder of the Brain Bloom Foundation, an organisation that advocates for children, parents, teachers and families affected by learning challenges.

Mostert lives with ADHD, severe dyslexia and dyscalculia, and says her personal experiences have strengthened her commitment to helping young people who face similar obstacles.

Through the foundation, she aims to promote support, education and self-belief among children and families navigating learning disabilities.

Her international journey is expected to continue during her reign as Teen Model World 2026, with appearances planned at events including Colombia Fashion Kids and Orlando Fashion Kids.

Her participation in the international competition also involved collaboration with designers from South Africa, Vietnam and Nigeria.

Mostert has additionally been recognised in the arts and culture space, having co-hosted the 2025 National Arts and Culture Awards held at Sun City.

With her success in modelling and her advocacy work, the young titleholder is emerging as an inspiration for teenagers across South Africa, proving that determination and support can help turn personal challenges into opportunities.
