Sedibeng Sports Confederation Elects New Leadership

A key priority for the new leadership will be to ensure that sporting organisations are well-structured, sustainable, and positioned for long-term growth.

The Sedibeng Sports Confederation successfully elected its new leadership during its Executive Committee elections held on Thursday, 23 April 2026.

The newly elected leadership will serve a two-year term, concluding in 2028. Thereafter, the Confederation will transition into an Olympic-aligned cycle, with subsequent elections scheduled for 2028 and 2032.

The Council has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening sport across the Sedibeng region by coordinating support structures and improving the governance of various sporting codes.

A key priority for the new leadership will be to ensure that sporting organisations are well-structured, sustainable, and positioned for long-term growth.

In addition, the Confederation aims to revive and elevate sport in the region to its former strength, while actively investing in athlete development pathways. This includes identifying and nurturing talent with the long-term goal of producing athletes who can compete at the highest level, including future Olympic Games.

The newly elected leadership has expressed its dedication to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to unlock opportunities and drive excellence in sport throughout Sedibeng.
